The prefecture of Fthiotida combines the all major characteristics of Greece. It has a strategic place geographically, a versatile landscape, fertile land, sea, ideal climate, various cultivations, continuous inhabitance since antiquity as well as a rich history and culture.

We recommend visiting the ancient town of Ales where the ruins of the Neolithic settlement, the antiquities from 6th century BC through to the Hellenistic and Byzantine periods as well as the beautiful beaches, excellent accommodation facilities and food!

Atalanti and the beach of Skala are also highly recommended. In Atalanti you should visit the archeological museum and roman mausoleum “Hamaithanasis.

The beautiful fishermen’s village of Livanates is a also a wonderful summer destination where you can visit the archeological sites in Kyno and Pyrgo Lyvanaton. The village of Arkitsa has some of the most beautiful beaches and excellent facilities for its visitors. You can also get a ferry from here to the north of Evia.

The main port in the area though is Agios Constantinos which connects to the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and N.Evia all year round.
